If you are interested in straightening your teeth without visible metal orthodontics, ClearCorrect teeth aligners from Great Lakes Bay Dental may be a great treatment option for your smile. With the ClearCorrect orthodontic system, your teeth and bite could be dramatically enhanced simply by wearing removable, clear aligners. These custom-made appliances are made of a clear, comfortable material and allow the freedom of eating whatever you want without the restrictions of traditional braces. ClearCorrect aligners are removed before mealtimes and brushing and flossing, letting you maintain the health of your teeth and gums with greater ease. To find out more about ClearCorrect and other orthodontic options, schedule a consultation with skilled dentist Dr. Daniel Clement at his office in Midland, MI.

You may be a good candidate for ClearCorrect if your teeth are crowded, crooked, misaligned, or if you have a dental malocclusion (poor bite). ClearCorrect may also be effective if you have a deep overbite, slightly rotated teeth, or gaps in your smile. There are many treatments to improve the spacing, alignment, and bite of your teeth, but ClearCorrect offers an array of additional benefits. The clear aligners make it hard for others to tell you're undergoing orthodontic treatment. Since they're removable, the aligners can be taken out when you eat and clean your teeth, and also for special occasions. Compared to Invisalign (a similar system of clear, removable teeth aligners), ClearCorrect material is slightly thinner and is typically a little less expensive. When you come to our office for a consultation, Dr. Clement will discuss your orthodontic treatment options and answer all of your questions to find out if ClearCorrect is the ideal method for your needs.
What to Expect
Once you choose ClearCorrect, Dr. Clement and his team will take digital x-rays of your jaw and teeth and impressions that will be used to create your aligners. After your aligners are fabricated by the ClearCorrect dental lab, a staff member will call you to schedule a fitting in our office. You can expect to wear your aligners for at least 22 hours each day for two weeks at a time and have follow-up appointments once a month at Great Lakes Bay Dental. During these appointments, Dr. Clement will check your progress and give you replacement aligners as your teeth and bite adjust and become more aligned. If you damage or lose one of your aligners, please give us a call right away to have replacement aligners made so that you can avoid any delay in your treatment. Based on the condition of your teeth and the amount of correction needed, your prescribed orthodontic care may last 12 – 24 months.
Dr. Clement will require regular visits to monitor your progress and make adjustments as needed. It is also extremely important to keep your teeth and your aligners clean so you don't develop tooth decay or gum problems. Flossing, brushing your teeth, and using mouthwash after you take out the aligners is extremely important to your overall oral health. It is also best to rinse or clean the aligners before placing them back into your mouth. You should also keep your aligners inside their protective case while eating to avoid losing them.
Once your treatment is completed, you will likely need to wear a retainer to prevent your teeth from moving back to their initial place. We recommend that you continue to schedule yearly dental examinations and biannual dental cleanings at Great Lakes Bay Dental so Dr. Clement can monitor your bite, teeth alignment, and total dental health.
If you carry dental insurance, a member of our office will contact your insurer to review your orthodontic benefits and estimate any out-of-pocket costs. Great Lakes Bay Dental accepts various payment methods, including low-interest medical financing, and will help you select the option that best meets your needs.
Attaining straighter teeth not only creates a more attractive smile — it can also improve your oral well-being and make your bite more comfortable.
